Week 1: Day One: In the Beginning:
On day one we had to go on a site named Tourism NZ website. On that site we had to look for 3 fun facts about NZ. We had to put those top 3 fun fact on our blogs in our own words.
Fun Fact 1: Did you ever know that NZ is around the same size as the country named as Japan.
Fun Fact 2: Also the population in NZ is just over four milllon, making NZ one of the least populated contries.
Fun Fact 3. In 1893, NZ became the first ever country to give women the right to vote.
Kia ora Oalii,
ReplyDeleteIt is fabulous to see that you have joined the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. Welcome to the team!
We are thrilled to have you working with us and utterly amazed by how many activities you have already posted on your blog. Wow! Our team will read through all of your work in the coming week and post comments. In the meantime, I really want you to know that we are keeping track of all of your work on our big spreadsheet and tallying up the points that you are earning.
At the end of the summer we will come back to Pt England with certificates and prizes for the top bloggers. At this rate, you may even finish the programme well before the summer ends. (That is totally fine!)
I hope that as you go through the programme that you are learning new things about New Zealand. I must admit that I didn't realise that NZ was the first country to give women the vote back in 1893 until I participated in the SLJ. I think that this is a pretty amazing fact! It certainly makes me proud to be a kiwi.
As you were reading about New Zealand, did you come across any facts that surprised you? I'd love to hear your thoughts, if you have time to write back.
In the meantime, keep up the awesome work!
Talk to you again soon,
Rachel :)
