Tongan Language Week

This week is Tongan Language week. Tongan language week is the celebration of the Tongan culture and language and to introduce New Zealanders to it. In New Zealand there are more Tongans born than there is in the actual country, as of now. And so it’s very important to acknowledge the Tongan Heritage. The theme for this year is “ Fakakola o Aotearoa aki ae Lotu Mo’oni”. If you translate it in English it’s “ Enriching Aotearoa New Zealand through Prayer and Faith”.

~ The capital of Tonga is Nuku Alofa.
~ Tonga is a Polynesian Kingdom of greater than 170 south pacific islands.
~ The population of the Kingdom of Tongan comes up to 103,197 in the year 2018.
~ The island of Tongan was actually found in the year 1970 on June the 4.
~ Tonga's King is a man named Tupou Vi.
~ In Tonga they are 1 hour ahead of New Zealand * Time Based*

This photo we took was actually when family members from Tonga travelled here to New Zealand to take part in our Family reunion. This reunion was held in Hamilton. This family is from my Mom's side. This was really fun to attend.

In these photos this was in the year 2015. And My family and I had the opportunity to actually go to Tonga and meet people there. This was a time to really get to know each other and spend time together. This was a super fun experience. And I hope to do it again.

This is my part 2 of the 1,000,000 pound bank. This text was super long to read. This was also part to of this task. The main character was Henry.

Henry was great holding money, he had no family with him, but he was a good guy.

I really liked the overall finish to this task:).

Literacy: Week 11, Term 2: Scandalous Satire

 This is my Literacy task for this week. For this task we read texts from sites. We then had to figure out if it was a Factual or a Satirical text. My favourite texted I read was about the Carolina reaper. I liked the texts mainly because I already knew it was a real text. Over all the task was super fun to do.

Literacy: Week 11, Term 2: Fake News

This literacy task is based on fake information. Fake information can really get a reaction for some readers. Its also bad to put false information on the media, 1 it can mess with readers minds and sometimes they reject the actual truth, and 2 it can cause harm to some readers out there. So overall I learnt to never put fake news up even if it wont bring harm to people.

Literacy: Week 10, Term 2: No Fangs

This is my Task for week 10. I read a book called No Fangs. I was able to either create a Poster, Summary, or Screen Cast. And I decided to create a poster. This task was fun to do but also very hard. I hope you enjoy.

This is my first literacy task for this week. This was based on protests. The 2 protest I learnt about was the protest with Women Suffrage and Parihaka. This was super hard but I liked how I finished my task.

This is my literacy task for week 9. We had sentences given to us. I had to find out how many clauses, subjects, and verbs there are. I also had to make a poem about something naughty I have done in the past.

This is my literacy task for week 9. Team 5 have a writing test coming up this week. So this task is to basically prepare ourselves for the test. I really liked this task as well as the story I had made.
