Last Blog Post For 2019

Dear Blog Readers, this is my last blog post at school for 2019, and it's that time of year where the year is going to end and also as we are heading into holiday mood.
I will be back at school and blog posting a lot while I'm in intermediate school as a year 7.

My three most treasured things I got and did this year was.

1. My first treasured thing that I was named was one of the Ambassadors for 2019. This year I got named an ambassador and that was how my confident's grew bigger and bigger.

2. My second favourite thing that happened to the whole year 6 was when we went on camp. We went on to camp Bentzon at Kawau Island it was super fun to spend lots of time with my friends at a different place.

3. The next highlight was making my own U.V sensor. I made my own U.V sensor so that I know if the sun is at high risk of getting sun burn or if its fine to play. It was supper fun I got some help by a scientist called Rae.

Summer Learning Journey: My Own Pepeha

This was actually a simple task but some of the question didn't have my Mountain or Sea so I just had to figure it out myself. This was such a fun task to do I wonder what we are going to be doing next.

Writing: Top 5 Tips For Future Campers


Dear Future Campers, Camp Bentzon is the most Memorable time you will have as a Year 6 student. Camp Bentzon is on a Island called Kawau. This Camp helps you overcome many of your fears. Another thing about Camp Bentzon is there's a heap of different kinds of plants and creatures. You would also see many things or objects you don’t normally see at home like animals such a StingRays, Peacocks, Wekas, Orcas, and Wallabies. On Camp there is always 4 groups those 4 groups are named after objects or things on Kawau Island. The Names of the teams are Bentzon, Kawau, Katz, and Mansion. Here are 5 Tips to make your Camp Bentzon trip easy and fun.

First tip. The first tip is to always be ready. Every morning make sure you always check the timetable to see what your team is doing. This is a very important tip from me to you so that you can always be prepared. If you see you have wet activities make sure you’ve packed a towel, dry clothes, full water bottle, and most importantly water shoes. On the other hand if you have dry activities make sure that you have a water bottle, hat, closed shoes, and make sure your wear a t - shirt and shorts.

Second Tip. This second tip is all about Killer Hill. Always on the first day when you get to Camp Bentzon. and finish you unpacking the fairy, the first thing you do is walk the Killer Hill. How you could be prepared is to wear sports clothes and sport shoes but all have to be comfortable. Also a helpful tip is to make sure that you pack in your bag is not heavy because you “Do Not” want to climb high heels with weights on your back. The last helpful tip on walking the Killer hill, is to always pack a cold water bottle and always hold it. When I was walking, I left my water bottle in my bag and I noticed what took up most of my time is stopping to get my water bottle out of my bag. So make sure that you hold your water bottle while walking, it makes the process easy and simple.

Third Tip. This Tip is a tip based on one of the activities we do. In this case the tip is based on abseiling. abseiling, abseiling scares a lot of people. In Abseiling you first climb up the bars and then you go down on flat wall. My first advice to you while you're climbing up the bars are to never look down even though you just started. This is so that you won’t get scared when your climbing and also so you don’t just give up. The next tip is when your coming down. This first tip may sound crazy but trust me it helps you get down faster and it is also easy to do. So when you lean back make sure that your sitting kind of like your on the toilet and then from there just let the rope lose and jump. Another thing when your coming down like that is to always make sure that your feet are flat on the wall and also your legs aren’t close together. So there's my advice to you so that you can have a fun and safe time while Abseiling.

Fourth tip. This tip is all about how to sneak in for seconds. All of you probably know your allowed seconds in breakfast, dinner but in lunch you may be full. This is a tip for when you get afternoon tea and morning tea. So when you finish your activity you go and stand outside the windows to the kitchen. There you get 3 or 2 cookies and a fruit. Now us Year 6s don’t get full easily so we try to get sneak for seconds, but somehow always get caught. So if you were to sneak in and get seconds make sure you wear a hat that doesn’t cover your face but looks like it is, this is so that they don’t see your face when your going. Then once your finish that round ask a friend to borrow there hat and quickly go up to the window and ask for some but don’t say anything and Successfully you will get your seconds. And this isn’t just for seconds you can use this trick for thirds even fourths.

Fifth tip. This final tip is about one of the wet activities you do while your on camp and the activity im giving you tips on is kayaking. The helpers there tell you most tips to keep safe but these are my tips to remind you. First tip is to always stick with your group no matter what. Next tip is when you get to play games. One of the games is you have to kayak but while standing up. Make sure when you stand up and you get the hang of it you don’t rock the boat because that will put you off your balance and you will fall off. The next tip is to not lean back on your boat, I noticed when I had a sore back I leaned back on my kayak and I almost tipped over so don’t lean back on you kayak. Final tip about kayaking is to just have fun while out there in the water.

So there you have it my 5 tips for you when you go off to Camp Bentzon. With these top 5 tips you will have a great time at camp. Follow these tips while your on Camp Bentzon and you will have the time of your life.

This was basically my animation but we actually used iPad's. this was super easy but some how we didn't get to it because all the sports we had but now its done and we finished it and we are all proud of it. Extension Work: Animation U.V Light



This is my Last extension animation for this term. This was I think the hardest out of all and also the funnest. This was all based on U.V Light and also about the Ozone Hole. I learnt a lot this term about U.V light one of the things I learnt was people can't see U.V Light so what you can do is to always stay sun-smart. Anyways this was my animation and I hope you enjoy.

Extension Work: U.V Light Research



This is my third to last task for this terms extension work. So far the work for extension for this term is super fun I love these task. This task is a research task. and it was mainly about U.V Light, Sunburn, and the Ozone hole. Overall myself and my other members of my group loved this and we also finish really early.

Extension Work: Our Progress On U.V Sensor



This is our progress in our U.V Sensors. I made this a bit late but I just wanted to tell all my readers no I was to the only one who finished and yes the whole of the year 5 and 6 extension had already finish the project/U.V Sensor.

Extension Work: U.V Sensor Readings


This is to show what my U.V Sensor looked like from the bottom, top, left, and right side. This was super fun to make but really challenging. At first I was pretty chill but I had to do some jobs and that took some of my time on working on m yUV Sensor so I was really be hide. Then on Tuesday I caught up, with a lot of help but I notice I put one of the sections in the wrong compartment and my teacher Ray said some parts were also broken I wasn't really surprised because it did not look as well as it was suppose to look. So Ray took it home and worked on it. Then today he came back and gave me my U.V Sensor it looked great, and all I had to do, was just the readings. So I did, it was actually a pretty cool and fun task to do. It was so fun I got it done just like that. Overall I thought my Sensor came out pretty well and I love it. so that was my journey through making my U.V Sensor.

Inquiry/Animation: Something In The Water



Task Description: This is my animation for this term and as you probably already know the theme for this term is  Something In The Water. In my animation it tells you little facts about the Rocky Shore. For my animation I had to pick a main sea creature and show you's it's prey and the predator. I also tell you 1 or 2 facts about a crab. Overall I think this is a very good animation and I think it was the funniest  animation I had done for throughout this year.

Trip To The Museum

This week we the year 5 and 6 extension group and some extra's got the opportunity to visit the Auckland Museum. We got to go for 2 days Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday what we did was learn about the Rocky Shore, we also did some Virtual Reality drawing and we also got to code a robot. I was really nervous because I didn't really know how to code but once I did it I got the hang of it and it was really fun. We also did have a little tour of the Museum and of course we went in the Volcano House. Overall the Monday trip was Awesome.

Today on Tuesday we had our second trip to the Auckland Museum. This time when we got to do Virtual Reality and to Code the Robot it was pretty easy for us because since we learnt how to do the things it was easy for us to just do it. I was in the that had to code a robot. We had to do our own maze and code it by ourself. it was pretty fun and we also finished our coding in time. Also I was pretty happy with it because I did most of the coding and the teacher said it was very good.. Overall I thought Tuesday was also a great day.


Overall these todays have been great at coding it could be easier for me to just code next time we visit. Also big Thank so Gabriel and Wendy this trip wouldn't be possible without your help.

Task Description: This is my second and my last maths task for the week. This was another one of the figure it out tasks. This was all about trays of tomatoes and how much ripped ones there were. The question were a little bit hard but I did it with some help from my friends. Overall this was a fun and great task.

Task Description: This is my first maths task for week 5. What we had to do was do our times tables practice. We had to do it each day and show how great we are doing with our times tables. My level is Emerald and it is 8 times tables but I might be going on Diamond soon which is 17 times tables. Overall this was a very cool reading task and it was also very fun.

Reading: Synonyms & Book Review

Walt: Visualise the characters in the story based on their descriptions.



Task Description: This is my first task for this weeks reading task.  What we had to do for this task was the first 2 pages we had to find 2 words that are nouns and then go on the synonyms generator and it will tell me different words but the same meaning. Then I did the same thing on the third and fourth but the words have to be an adjective then on the last 2 pages I do the same thing but the words had to be a verb.


Task Description: This is my first reading task for this week. What we had to do was do a review on the book and give it  5 out of something and also with this task it came with a video of me reading my book aloud.

Overall these 2 reading task were fun and very challenging to do too.

Writing: Rocky Shore Report

The Rocky shore is a habitat in the Inter tidal area that is common throughout New Zealand's coastline. The Rocky shore has different zones within the habitat such as Splash zone, Inter tidal zone and Sub-tidal zone. It contains a diverse number of interesting creatures, plant life and wildlife.

The first zone is called the Splash zone or the Supra tidal zone. The Splash zone is right above the high tide mark. Creatures that live in the splash zone get covered by water if there's a storm or king tides. They also live in the splash zone so that they can have a glimpse of the sun.

The next zone is the Inter tidal or Littoral zone. The inter tidal zone has three zones in it high tide, mid tide and low tide. It is also a sea bed that is in the center of the highest and lowest limits of the tide. The creatures that live in that zone can go in the water and on land. 

The next zone is called Sub tidal or Sub littoral zone. The sub tidal zone is straight under the inter tidal zone, it is also directly underneath the low tide. The creatures that live in the sub tidal section is permanently covered in water. This zone is tones more firm than the inter tidal zone and temperature force remains further constants.

The Rocky Shore is an inter tidal habitat that is command to New Zealand. The Rocky Shore has tons of different including Inter tidal or Littoral zone, Splash or Supra tidal, and the Sub tidal or Sub littoral zone. The rocky shore is a great place to visit and you can learn more scientific things about the rocky shore and the creatures.



Task Description: This is my first writing of the term this was so fun to do but I was struggeling atg first but when Mr Goodwin explanied I could do it and now I'm finished. Overall this was very fun and cool to do.

Writing: Trip to the MOVIES



Spider Man 
Far From Home.
On Tuesday two of my aunties took myself my siblings and my cousins out to watch a recent movie that just came out... SPIDER MAN FAR FROM HOME. The movies that my aunties took us was the one in Manukau. It was a bit of a drive since there was a lot of traffic. Also since there were 10 of us we took 2 car a van and a normal sized car.

While we were driving we were a bit nervous because we had took 4 bags filled with snack for us to eat and we were unsure if they were going to confiscate all our bags.

Once we finally found a parking we went up the escalator (which took us to cinemas) we met up with the others and brought all the tickets.

It was time to see if they were going to confiscate our bags or let us be. We were so nervous… So we went to show our tickets to the movie worker and they didn’t do anything which was a great sign.

Once we got into the cinema we looked for our seats and just to let yous know it wasn’t easy… So once we finally found our seats and got all comfortable we ate some of our snacks.


So we waited and waited until finally the movies had started. Since it is a new movie I won’t tell the readers a lot but I will say that it was differently a really cool movie. Our whole family loved it. It was also cool because it had my best Disney character on it Zendaya and she was an awesome actor.

Overall the movie trip was super fun and what made it 10x better was that we got to spend time with our cousins.

Task Description: Since it was the last day of the school holidays i wanted to do my last post for the school holidays. I wanted to talk about my trip to movies. It was super fun. I can't wait for school tomorrow and to see all my friends and to also see who were the lucky winners for the blogging challenge.

My little cousin is an evil genius. Yes, evil. Not in the ‘they’re so annoying’ kinda cute evil way, but in the ‘they literally want to rule the world’ kinda evil way. Let me explain…

My little cousin was born with a brain 3x bigger than a normal person, however they must of been born with a heart 3x times smaller because they are just plain evil. Anyway, I could tell you an endless number of crimes and naughty things they have gotten up to over the years, but this one tops the list. This one was the worst, let me tell you about the time they had interrupted the pasta not once but twice during a funeral and blamed it all on me.

So there was a time where my our great grandmother had passed away and we had to get ready. While we were getting ready my cousin had smashed a glass cup on the floor. Then my mum came in with an angry expression and said “ WHO DID THIS” my little cousin had cried and cried and said I was angry at him and smashed the glass cup. Of course my mum had believed him and gave me in trouble. So my little cousin was already up to no good. Once I got in trouble I didn’t talk to anyone at all I was so angry, but I knew that if I got angry at my little cousin I would know that he would jut im st cry.

Anyways we were at my great grandmother service and the pasta just finished say a prayer. It was time to say speeches about our great grandmother. That was when my little cousin decided to yell out “CHEESE”. When my cousin said cheese that was the time when I needed to go to the toilet so I stood up and every one looked at me in an angry way. I was so confused and I knew that my cousin said cheese but I didn’t know why they were looking at me and not him. At that time my mum came up to me and pulled me by the ear and took me outside. She gave me a huge growling at that time tears started to come out of my eyes. I tried to convince my mum that it wasn’t me but she didn’t believe me. So once again my mum pulled me back into the church and sat with me the whole time to make sure that “I wouldn’t do that” which I never eve did.

So as we went further into the service once again my little cousin decided to yell out “CHEESE” again but he stood up and said it. At that time everyone looked at our direction again but looked at my little cousin. Again at the time my mum once again took myself along with my cousin outside. She was so angry yet confused. She asked us “ why are you acting like that” as always we answered “ I don’t”. So then I decided to say what I wanted to say since this morning. I said “ well do you know how the glass cup smashed on the ground it was all his fault he just cried so he could get away with it and he did.'' This was what my cousin said “ OK maybe if I did fake cried but that was all because you get all the attention and your mum barely looks at me and that really hurts”. Then my mum says “ ohh I’m so sorry I didn’t think you felt this way”. Then my mum said to me “ ohh i’m so sorry for giving you growlings I hope you forgive me”. Then I said ‘ it all right and cousin I’m sorry for being mad at you I family and I love you FRIENDS”. Then my cousin said “ FRIENDS”. At that point on my cousin and I became friends.



Task Description: This is another task for the blogging challenge in fact it is our second to last task to do for the holidays. This was a pretty hard task because there was one thing we had to do and I didn't know how to do it. What we had to do was make an animation about our story and to me it was super hard. Also another hard thing was that I had to do my writing and while I was doing my writing my siblings had a scary movie on and it was so tempting not to watch a parts but I got my work done just before the movie finished which was good.

Since there is one more task I will be trying to make the last task the best task. I hope to be one of the lucky winners when go back to school.

Task Description: This is my 8th task for the blogging challenge which means theirs only 2 more task for us to do and then we are do. This was surprisingly really hard because first I tried drawing my logo on a paper and it didn't work so well I was just like drawing on the paper and when I messed it up I grabbed another paper it was so difficult but then I had a good idea to draw my logo on a google slide and both my logos turned out great I had a little trouble here and there but I managed to push myself and get it done.

Task Description: This is another task for the blogging challenge. The reason why I am posting 7th task on the 8th day was because yesterday my family and I were so busy so I saved this task for today. Anyways this task was all about CLEANING YOUR ROOM. The most hard part of the challenge for me was to try not get my sisters bed in the photo. We do share rooms but because she had already cleaned her side of the bed and it wouldn't be nice for me to just mess it up again so what I did was cut her side of the room so that you could only see my messy side. Overall it was a fun challenge and it is time to hop on to task 8.

Writing: Write About Anything

On Tuesday I woke up from my sleep and I felt like I just wanted to play with my friend. And forget about going to school. But my mum just forced me out of bed, and so I had to go to school.

So I went to school and my friend and I started to do dares on each other. First we started off with soft dares like run to the wall and run back. When it was class time they started to do really bad dares like stand in the middle of the classroom and scream I love ice cream. They actually did and we didn’t even back out on any of them. But there was one dare that got me. I had to dress up as Mr. Burt and tell people off.

So I sneaked into Mr. Burt’s office and took his hat and jacket and wore it. Then I went to room 22 and started to be Mr. Burt and started to tell kids off. What I didn’t know was that there were visitors here. The visitors and Mr. Burt Walked into room 22 and saw me telling kids off well wearing Mr. Burt’s Jacket and Hat. Until he said my name I knew that this was a bad thing to do. I really wanted to cry but I knew that I just needed to hold it in. It was really bad because first of all I was getting into trouble by the principal Mr. Burt but also I was getting into trouble in front of very important visitors. Then Mr. Burt said to the visitors to just check out other classes while he sorts me out. Then I started to cry and then Mr. Burt took me and the people I told off to his office.

First he talked to the kids I told off. When they went he had to deal with me. Then I thought but why did I even do this dare. I didn’t want to say that it was a dare because that would have meant that I would get in more trouble because I wasn’t supposed to do dares in class time I was so scared and sad at the same time. I was so scared because I didn’t know if I would get put on detention a whole week or even go home and not come to school for a whole week. I was so scared. When Mr. Burt spoke to me I started to stop crying because Mr. Burt spoke to me very calmly and he wasn’t mad at me at all. He was just very disappointed at me. He said that I will be on detention today. I said "Okay that will be fine."

When I went to detention I thought about what I did wrong. I also made a card for Mr. Burt to say how sorry I am. Also I knew that I had learnt my lesson from today. Never do dares in school time.

Task Description: This was another one of my own task Id did: As you all probably already knew I'm an Ambassadors so as an ambassador I deiced to make a slide show shown what I was feeling when I was applying and how my other friends felt and also how I felt when I was an ambassador. Also in that slide show it showed the things I said that got me to be an ambassador and what I say every time we have our ambassadors gig.

Screen Castify: Scratch Project.



Task Description: This was another one of my own task that I had done. All I did was a screencastify to show what I'm stuck on and what I have completed. This was so easy I got it done right away. Bur doing all the coding it was pretty hard but I'm going to try and complete my scratch game. Also I did this because since Mr. Goodwin it not making us task in the weekends I thought maybe I could make some of my own and so I did. I love to posting on my blog in the holidays.

Extra Work: Family Photos

Task Description: this was another extra task I did and I will say this was pretty fun to do. So what I did was pick some of the photos that my sister sent to me and then I put it on different pages and said where were we and some of it why were we there.

Writing: Fake Recount

On Tuesday I woke up from my sleep and I felt like I just wanted to play with my friend. And forget about going to school. But my mum just forced me out of bed, and so I had to go to school.

So I went to school and my friend and I started to do dares on each other. First we started off with soft dares like run to the wall and run back. When it was class time they started to do really bad dares like stand in the middle of the classroom and scream I love ice cream. They actually did and we didn’t even back out on any of them. But there was one dare that got me. I had to dress up as Mr. Burt and tell people off.

So I sneaked into Mr. Burt’s office and took his hat and jacket and wore it. Then I went to room 22 and started to be Mr. Burt and started to tell kids off. What I didn’t know was that there were visitors here. The visitors and Mr. Burt Walked into room 22 and saw me telling kids off well wearing Mr. Burt’s Jacket and Hat. Until he said my name I knew that this was a bad thing to do. I really wanted to cry but I knew that I just needed to hold it in. It was really bad because first of all I was getting into trouble by the principal Mr. Burt but also I was getting into trouble in front of very important visitors. Then Mr. Burt said to the visitors to just check out other classes while he sorts me out. Then I started to cry and then Mr. Burt took me and the people I told off to his office.

First he talked to the kids I told off. When they went he had to deal with me. Then I thought but why did I even do this dare. I didn’t want to say that it was a dare because that would have meant that I would get in more trouble because I wasn’t supposed to do dares in class time I was so scared and sad at the same time. I was so scared because I didn’t know if I would get put on detention a whole week or even go home and not come to school for a whole week. I was so scared. When Mr. Burt spoke to me I started to stop crying because Mr. Burt spoke to me very calmly and he wasn’t mad at me at all. He was just very disappointed at me. He said that I will be on detention today. I said okay that will be fine.

When I went to detention I thought about what I did wrong. I also made a card for Mr. Burt to say how sorry I am. Also I knew that I had learnt my lesson from today. Never do dares in school time.

Task Description: This was my writing a few weeks ago when I was in school. I saw this on my drafts and so today I decided to publish it. I remember when I was doing this I had struggled a lot but I managed to get it done and my teacher said that this was a good piece of writing. Also for this task we had to write a fake recount I would never get dressed as Mr Burt.

Extra Work: My Favourite Thing



Task Description: This is another task for the holidays but this is not a task from the holiday blogging challenge it is my own work. I wanted to do this because I was pretty bored just watching you tube so I decided that I could do a My Favourite Thing task and it was pretty cool.

Task Description: This is my next task for the blogging challenge. This was by far the hardest one out of all because I didn't have a square shaped paper and I also didn't know how to even make origami. Anyways instead of making like the real origami I had made a origami box. When I finished making my first origami box it was hard but when I tried it again I got the hang of it and started to make pretty cool origami boxes. I hope to be one of the lucky prize winners.

Once upon a time there was a cute little lobster call jimmy. Jimmy was wondering around the undersea he meant a fishy. That fishy was called Tom. Tom was little but boy he has a mouth. Anyway Jimmy wanted to make friends was Tom. So Jimmy asked him and Tom said sure. So they set off. While they were roaming they saw a big scary shark. Tom and Jimmy were to busy starring that they hit a end of a boat. Tom started to bleed. Jimmy looked at the shark and his eyes turned pitch black and started to go closer and closer to Jimmy and Tom. Jimmy saw and yelled RUN! So the set off and run as fast as they could but the shark was still behind them. They were still running but Tom saw a great place where the both of them can fit but not the shark. So Tom took charge and Jimmy and Tom got into the small place just before the shark went and took a bite. The were so scared. But the little space lead Tom and Jimmy to there family and they also got food. That was the story on how Tom the Fishy and Jimmy the Lobster became BFF. ( Best Friends Forever)
